Five days ago, we flew into Quito, Ecuador from Hue, Vietnam with a one week stopover in Portland, Oregon.
The financial meltdown didn’t seem to happen around October 25th, so we have been acclimating ourselves to the new culture and climate. From hot and humid to cool and dry.
We took our first bus ride today and bought a Spanish <-> English dictionary and “Spanish for Dummies” book. We searched through three bookstores and material for learning Spanish as a second language material seemed quite limited.
As we find out more it may change, but as of now, there seems to be a much better selection of material for learning Spanish as a second language [SSL] in the USA. It seems that most schools that teach Spanish create their own learning materials.
This is a quick post after installing the necessary WordPress files to create this blog. This is a quick and initial layout and it will, no doubt, change within the next few weeks as time permits.
It is almost midnight, so I’ll end this post and continue tomorrow.
